Hi everyone, i just tried to program my new mcs2000 model III and ran into a problem. First of all i have programmed many mcs's in the past and i am using RSS 5.07 (The newest i think). I read the radios codeplug succesfully, then after changing a few frequencies around i went to write it, the radio programmed one block of the codeplug and then the radio suddenly shut off. When i turned it back on all it says is FAIL 01/82, now when i tried to read it again it does the same thing, shuts off after 1 block of data is read. I have also tried forcing the original codeplug data back into the radio with simular results. Any help or advice would be appreciated, and like i said i do have the original unmodified codeplug data, so hopefully i can bring this paper weight back to life!
The latest MCS2000 software is CPS R01.11.00
I have RSS R05.06.00 here which is over a year old and DOS based I wouldn't think 5.07 is much newer, I'm not sure if it will work right with the newer radios, an upgrade is probably in order.
As you may already know, FAIL 01/82 is listed as an EEPROM checksum error. You could get the latest CPS software and try programming it again, and of course make sure your rib and cables are good.
