MCS2000 for 900 mhz amateur radio

I have purchased an MCS2000 for 900 mhz amateur. The radio programes ok but I cannot get the receiver to work on PL/DPL. The receiver is CSQ only. I have programmed both transmit and receive for DPL/PL. The radio is set up for trunk mount so wondering if there is a hangup that enables/disables the DPL/PL on receive?

Is the mic off hook when you're trying this? Their is a setting in the CPS to determine if it goes into CSQ when the mic is off hook.

I don't have a mic hangup with the radio. Can you tell me where in the software to set it for it is always in PL or DPL? Looked but must be missing the parameter to set.

In convential configuration under the general tab uncheck the HUB Defeats PL box. That should do it.

Just for informational purposes, I've been using modified CPS R02.02.00 and am not seeing this issue with my model II rig on 900MHz. The 900 rig has only been programmed with this modified software since I've owned it. I agree something abnormal is going on if the personalities are configured for PL for TX/RX and the Hub defeats PL is unchecked.

Go into CPS, open conventional tab. Click on conventional configuration. Uncheck box marked HUB defeats PL.

What version of software are you programming with, and did you have to do any modifications to get it to program into the ham band?

I have seen some cases where the software causes the radio to operate in carrier squelch only. In the cases I'm familiar with, the radio was programmed with modified software, then the codeplug was read, and rewritten to the radio with unmodified software. All sorts of weirdness resulted, especially with PL/DPL operation.
